History: Jace and Pridith are in fact siblings and have stayed together since they were born. They were very attached to each other even before they "became" twins. They are forest cats and have never stepped foot into the city. They saw no reason to. Humans go around the area often, looking for animals like them. They were perfect test subjects.
So when they came, Jace was sure to push Pridith away so she could hide, but couldn't move fast enough to save himself. He knew this. He allowed himself to be caught, underestimating his sister's stubbornness.
A fox was murdered in front of their eyes... that brought everything into reality. This was really happening. They could be killed. Other animals were being killed.
Jace was taken back to a small lab and Pridith followed, breaking into the place with that hard skull of hers. Jace was way too secure on the table he was to be tested on...
It wasn't shown clearly, but humans did come in and turn their device on, not noticing the extra cat that was there. Or maybe they did notice and didn't care. An interesting thing did happen, after all.
The two siblings were caught by the ray, forcing them to pass out simultaneously. The effects of the experiment simply made them stronger, faster, and very similar looking. The new twins escaped afterwards and made their living bullying the heck out of new, lost animals.
